Who are the top and most popular Dayak leaders over the past two decades?

If this question becomes a questionnaire aimed at respondents throughout the island of Borneo, then the answer leads to a figure named: Cornelis. Drs. Cornelis, M.H. was the Governor of West Kalimantan for the 2008–2018 period.

Cornelis won the Regional Election for the Governor of West Kalimantan which was held on 15 November 2007. He was appointed by the Minister of Home Affairs Mardiyanto on 14 January 2008 He did a lot of infrastructure and spiritual development. Not only for the Dayak people but for all the people.

Very rarely do regional heads (governors, regents, mayors) have extensive work in the international world. Into that very rare person Cornelis can be included.

In short, Cornelis is a leader for all. Cornelis is also the President of the Majelis Adat Dayak Nasional (National Dayak Traditional Council – 2015 – 2021).

During his time as the Governor of West Kalimantan, Cornelis was invited and took part in the international world related to the interests of all humans and creatures on this earth.

Very rarely do regional heads (governors, regents, mayors) have extensive work in the international world. Most just stick tolocal problems. However, it is very different from the Governor West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), Drs. Cornelis, MH, was actually able to act at a level world.

Not just joining or being a follower, but being one of the actors key in world association in the field of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and halt the rate of deforestation and forest degradation.

He is a member Governor’s Climate and Forest (GCF) Task Force with 29 provinces and countries parts around the world. In fact, he also signed a world-class declaration, known as the Rio Blanco Declaration. 

This book immortalizes Cornelis while participating in international events related to the issue of global warming as well as climate change. Through the data that has been collected, then compiled and arranged in a book into an interesting story.
